Jonathan M. Frantz, MD, FACS, one of our area’s most innovative and respected cataract surgeons, was among an elite group of top ophthalmologists from around the country who spoke at “Cataract Surgery: Telling It Like It Is,” held January 16 – 19, in Sarasota. FL. Over 500 physicians attended the three-day conference whose goal was to educate and inform surgeons on the latest technologies in Bladeless Laser Cataract Surgery, as well as other ophthalmic topics and procedures.
Dr. Frantz shared his expertise and knowledge in two key presentations that focused on femtosecond lasers for cataract surgery and Alcon’s new Cataract Refractive Suite.
Dr. Frantz introduced Bladeless Laser Cataract Surgery in Southwest Florida in May of 2012 and is now one of the most experienced LenSx surgeons in the country. He continues to lead the way with ORA with VerifEye, which provides an in-depth analysis of the patient’s eye during surgery. According to Dr. Frantz, the combination of the LenSx laser and the ORA technology has definitely optimized his patients’ visual outcomes. The LenSx laser is one of the four technologies comprising The Cataract Refractive Suite, which together will redefine the way cataract surgery is performed from start to finish.
