THE RAINDROP PROCEDURE The Raindrop Inlay is inserted in the non- dominant eye, allowing the eyes to work together for clear vision up close and at a distance. It works by gently changing the shape of the cornea in the implanted eye. The near vision is improved in the Raindrop eye, while the distance is slightly affected. The Raindrop Near Vision Inlay procedure takes only about 10 minutes and our surgeons perform it in our office. During the procedure, you will be awake and alert. Your surgeon will use a laser to create a small flap in the surface of the eye (cornea). The Raindrop Inlay is then placed within the opening. WHAT TO EXPECT IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE PROCEDURE Most patients resume normal activities within 24 to 48 hours. You should avoid using reading glasses and keep all follow-up appointments with the doctor. Be sure to take all prescribed medications, including artificial tears to avoid developing dry eye. The Raindrop Inlay can be safely removed if necessary.
