So far, so good!I'd been experiencing some unsettling symptoms consistent with retinal detachment/retinal tear and I wasn't having much luck trying to find someone to see me on such short notice, and if they could, they didn't take my insurance. I've never had problems with my eyes, so I wasn't even sure who to call. When I finally got to calling Frantz, I was bracing myself for another rejection. That is until a receptionist named Rocio, answered the phone. She was kind, patient, and reassuring, and after hearing about the trouble I'd been having, she was determined to squeeze me in somewhere. And she did.My appointment isn't until Monday (this is Friday), but I wanted to make sure that Frantz knew what an asset they have in Rocio. As the first point of contact, the receptionist sets the tone, and sometimes can determine the patient's decision to stay or to seek care elsewhere. It is an important role that requires compassion, empathy, kindness, confidence, and patience. Rocio displays all of these qualities and more. And because of this, what started out as a stressful and somewhat scary day feels a little bit brighter and a lot more hopeful. So, thank you Rocio. You made a difference today!
