Dr. Jonathan Frantz adds WaveScan technology in Naples

FORT MYERS/NAPLES - The latest WaveScan technology has recently been installed in the Naples office of Florida Eye Health, now making this advanced vision correction technology available at both the Fort Myers and Naples offices of LASIK Specialist Jonathan M. Frantz, MD. The WaveScan obtains a precise and detailed analysis of the entire optical system.

Together with the WaveScan WaveFront System and the VISX STAR S4 Excimer Laser System, Dr. Frantz can now deliver unprecedented levels of measurement accuracy in both offices and outstanding treatment precision essential to the CustomVue procedure.

Both the Fort Myers and Naples offices of Florida Eye Health were upgraded to the VISX STAR S4 Excimer Laser System in 2002.  "We are now pleased to be able to offer the new WaveScan technology for our Naples patients," said Dr. Frantz.  

The newest WaveScan technology provides unprecedented definition in assessing patient's wavefront and creates extensive individualized treatment possibilities for true custom ablation.  No pupil dilation is required.  "Working with a natural, undilated pupil positively impacts every stage of treatment," said Dr. Frantz.  Dilation is a time-consuming step and changes the wavefront error.

Always at the forefront of technology, Dr. Frantz was the first surgeon in the area to offer the VISX STAR S4 WavePrint System nearly two years ago.  He has been offering the ActiveTrak and Variable Spot Scanning since 2001 and installed the first on-site laser for laser vision correction in Naples in 1999.
