Local Cataract & LASIK Specialist Jonathan M. Frantz, MD, FACS, medical director of Florida Eye Health, has received the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Achievement Award.  The Awards program recognizes individuals for their contributions to the Academy based on a cumulative point system. Points are earned through participation in the Annual Meeting and other areas of service to the Academy.  As a recipient of the Achievement Award, Dr. Frantz will be listed in the 2007 Annual Meeting Program.

Dr. Frantz established Florida Eye Health in Fort Myers in 1994 with an emphasis on cataract surgery and laser vision correction.  He and his medical team of two ophthalmologists, six optometrists, and 75 employees now have offices in Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Punta Gorda and Naples.  A fifth office is scheduled to open in Lehigh Acres in September 2007.

Always on the leading edge of technology, Dr. Frantz has been a pioneer of laser technology since 1987.  He was the first surgeon in our area to offer CustomVue LASIK and Iris Registration.  He also performed the area’s first ReSTOR Lens Implant.
