Area Cataract & LASIK Specialist Jonathan M. Frantz, MD, FACS, is pleased to announce that Warren H. Hamilton, MD, a board certified ophthalmologist, has joined the medical team at Florida Eye Health. Dr. Hamilton spent 17 years in private practice in general ophthalmology and five years in a group practice. As a medical ophthalmologist at Florida Eye Health, Dr. Hamilton will primarily see patients who have glaucoma, dry eyes, and other diseases of the eye.
“We are pleased to have a general ophthalmologist on staff to assist me in meeting the medical needs of our patients,” said Dr. Frantz. “Dr. Hamilton comes to us with extensive medical and surgical experience with a special interest in the needs of seniors,” he added.
Dr. Hamilton attended college at Florida State University where he graduated Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. His medical school training was at the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences in Memphis. After an internship at Methodist Hospitals of Memphis, he completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Tennessee, where he was Chief Resident his senior year.
A member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology since 1981, and a fellow since 1987, Dr. Hamilton is certified by both the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Hamilton will see patients in the Fort Myers and Naples offices of Florida Eye Health. Other office locations include Cape Coral and Punta Gorda. In addition to Dr. Frantz and Dr. Hamilton, Florida Eye Health has six board-certified optometrists on staff who provide primary eye care services including testing for eyeglasses and contact lenses, and pre and post-operative care of surgical patients.
